
The story behind KALA
At the heart of our everyday lives is KALA, which was created and run by Simone, Marcus, David and Jonas - four people with very different backgrounds, but one common passion: To give our guests an experience that combines coziness, quality and community.
KALA started as a dream. I, Simone, had always wanted to bring Danish coziness into people's lives – but in a new way. Think café atmosphere, where coffee is more than just coffee. It is a story, a taste experience, a moment of pause in a busy everyday life.

It all started in Germany
When Marcus and I lived in Berlin, we experienced how a passion for coffee can bring people together, which meant that Marcus slowly delved deeper into the world of coffee, learning all about roasting, brewing and flavor nuances. It quickly became clear that our love for the fine and roasted beans would be a central part of KALA.

But a café is much more than just coffee and pastries. It requires structure, flow and the ability to make everything work together – something that David, Jonas and Simon have perfected. With their many years of experience in the restaurant industry, marketing and a special ability to create the right framework, they have been indispensable in our journey.
From the beginning, we knew we wanted to create something that extended beyond the four walls of the café. Therefore, our community became a natural extension of KALA.

It started with the KALA Social Run – a simple concept where people can meet, run together and then enjoy food and coffee. It has been a pleasure to see how people come back week after week, not just for the run, but for the community.
Later we developed KALA Club , a more intimate concept for those who want to be part of something special. With only 30 members we create space for activities like yoga, HIIT training and sauna sessions – always finished with good food and little surprises from our partners.
For us, it's about bringing people together. About creating a place where you don't just feel welcome, but part of a larger story.
Taste and thoughtfulness in every bite
At KALA, the menu is a celebration of quality and thoughtfulness. With my background in nutrition and health, I have always had a love for honest, organic ingredients. Our homemade granola, sourdough sandwiches and banana bread are inspired by my own favorites, and each bite is carefully crafted to give our guests something they remember.
We believe that food can do something special. It can bring us together, inspire us and create joy. That's why it's important to us to use ingredients that not only taste great, but are also good for us and our planet.

A place we are proud of
Looking back on our journey with KALA, we are filled with gratitude. Every day brings new challenges and new smiles, but most of all, it reminds us why we started.
